Privacy policy
This page explains, in plain language, what LeerKompas stores about parents and children, why we store it, which outside services see it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to delete it.
Who we are
LeerKompas is a learning app for Dutch primary school (Groep 4 and Groep 6). The organisation that runs it is [G to fill: company / legal name].
What we store
We store the items listed below. We do not describe other data on this page.
Parents
- name
Children
- display name
- Groep
- password (Supabase Auth)
- stars
- lesson/quiz results
- mistakes
- badges
- streaks
- screen time
- game plays
Why we store it
We store a parent’s name and email so we can run the parent account: sign-in, settings, and messages about the family.
We store a child’s display name, Groep, and password (Supabase Auth) so a parent can create the child’s login and the child can use the app. Children never create an account themselves.
We store stars, lesson/quiz results, mistakes, badges, streaks, screen time, and game plays so we can show progress, keep learning on track, and let parents see how their child is doing.
Outside services
These four outside services see some of the information above. We list what the app actually sends them.
- Supabase holds the database and sign-in (Auth), including parent and child accounts. The project region is [G to fill: Supabase project region].
- Vercel hosts the website. Analytics and Speed Insights run on public and parent pages only, never on /child. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are cookieless (they don't set cookies).
- OpenAI receives lesson text for read-aloud and weekly tips. We do not send child names to OpenAI.
- Resend sends the weekly digest email to the parent.
How long we keep it
How long we keep parent account data: [G to fill: retention period for parent account data]. How long we keep children’s learning data: [G to fill: retention period for children's learning data].
How to ask us to delete data
There is no in-app delete button today. To ask us to delete data, email [G to fill: contact email]. We will handle the request by hand.
Children never sign up themselves
Children never sign up themselves. A parent creates each child login from parent Settings. The child then signs in with the login the parent was given.
